Galleries apply now for the third edition of photo basel/berlin showcase running from September 10th-13th, 2026
photo basel returns to Berlin for the third time – as part of Berlin Art Week 2026
Six years after its inaugural edition in the German capital, photo basel will once again take place in Berlin from September 10–13, 2026. Hosted at Tempelhof Airport, the fair returns in collaboration with POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair and will once again be an official part of Berlin Art Week.
We are thrilled to renew this partnership, offering our exhibitors the opportunity to participate in one of the most important art events of the autumn season—an event that recently attracted over 140,000 visitors. Participating galleries will present photographic positions within a unified booth concept, each measuring 4 × 4 meters.
Year after year, POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair draws over 100 galleries from more than 20 countries and welcomes over 30,000 visitors, solidifying its role as a cornerstone of Berlin’s vibrant art scene. It offers selected galleries the chance to showcase their artistic programs and positions to a wide international audience during Berlin Art Week.
The venue for the 2026 fair will once again be the iconic hangars of Tempelhof Airport. With their light-filled halls, soaring 16-meter ceilings, and more than 10,000 square meters of space, they offer a unique and relaxed atmosphere. The expansive layout also allows for a diverse and high-quality supporting program, including special exhibitions, award ceremonies, talks, the Berlin Art Week Collectors Dinner, and many other highlights.
Since 2014, POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair has been an official partner of Berlin Art Week and today remains its only art fair. Berlin Art Week is a prestigious event that brings together a curated selection of exhibition openings from Berlin-based galleries, private collections, project spaces, and leading museums and institutions, including Neue Nationalgalerie, Hamburger Bahnhof, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlinische Galerie, Gropius Bau, and many others.
photo basel is excited and honored to once again be part of this dynamic and inspiring art week.
